the solo mum collective

The 3am feeds you did alone.
The school events you sat through solo.
The milestones you filmed because there was no one else to hold the camera.

You don't need advice.
You need someone who just gets it.

The community

A private space for solo mums who actually get it - because they're living it.

Somewhere to send the message you can't send anyone else.
Somewhere to celebrate the wins that don't translate outside this world.
Somewhere to ask the questions, make the decisions, and be reminded you're not the only one holding an entire life together on your own.

And it's not just online.

The Collective has a live map of members - solo mums all over the world, pinned in real time.

Find women near you.
Meet for coffee.
Swap childcare.
Build your local village, not just a virtual one.

Real women. Real locations. Real life.

The toolkit

I built the first tools at my kitchen table - because nothing out there was built for one income doing the job of two.

So I built them myself. Then I kept building. Then the community got involved - and it grew into something none of us could have built alone.

Not just for the hard bits. For all of it.

💰 Money & Finance - Trackers, guides, budgeting ideas and more. Built for one income doing the work of two.

⚖️ Legal & Rights - Entitlements, family law, future planning. Nobody gets to shortchange you because you didn't know to ask.

📚 Books, podcasts & recommendations - Curated by solo mums, for solo mums.

🔗 Websites & organisations - The ones worth knowing about, all in one place.

📞 Helplines & crisis support - For when you need more than a community can give.

🌍 Multicultural motherhood - Resources for solo mums raising mixed heritage children alone.

🗂️ Every nuance, covered - Widowhood, SMBC, DV, legal rights and more. Because solo motherhood isn't one story.

It's 8:47pm.

The kids are finally asleep.
The house is quiet in that specific way that should feel like relief but mostly just feels loud.

You sit down. You don't know what to do with your hands. You put the TV on - not because you want to watch anything, just because silence in an empty room is its own kind of heavy. You scroll for a bit. You're not looking for anything. You're just... decompressing from a day you carried entirely by yourself. Again.

Nobody tells you about this part.
The post-bedtime hour where you're too wired to sleep and too tired to do anything useful, just quietly existing in the space between got through today and have to do it all again tomorrow.

You're not unhappy.
You're not falling apart.
You're just - a lot of the time - very, very alone in it.

That's what this is for.

THE COMMUNITY

A private community of solo mums who get it - because they're in it.

Somewhere to send the message you can't send anyone else ("is it normal that I haven't spoken to an adult in four days?" - yes, unfortunately).
Somewhere to celebrate the wins that don't translate outside this world.
Somewhere to ask the questions, soundboard the decisions, and be reminded that you are not, in fact, the only person holding an entire life together with one income, two hands, and a slightly unhinged level of determination.

THE TOOLKIT

I spent 20 years in Hospitality & Operations - which is a fancy way of saying I am professionally, constitutionally incapable of leaving a system broken.

I built every tool in here for myself, at my kitchen table, when I was white-knuckling it through the early days of solo motherhood and realising that absolutely none of the financial advice, planning templates or "budgeting tips" out there were built for one income covering what two were designed to cover.

So I built them myself.
Then I kept building - because every solo mum I spoke to was missing exactly the same things.

Not motivation. Not a vision board.

This:

📊 Financial clarity - You stop making decisions based on anxiety and rough mental maths at 11pm. You know your numbers. Actual ones.

👶 Childcare backup that holds - One poorly child doesn't bring your entire week down with it.

A plan for when it goes wrong - Because something always does, and "I'll figure it out when it happens" is exhausting as a long-term strategy.

⚖️ Every entitlement, documented - You know what you're owed. You know how to claim it. Nobody gets to shortchange you because you didn't know to ask. (Currently only UK specific)

🔭 A future you've actually planned for - Income that can grow, a will that names a guardian, a 12-month picture that is yours - not just survival stitched together week by week.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF:

✅ You're a solo mum at any stage - six weeks in or six years. Either by choice or circumstance.

🫄 You're pregnant and doing this alone - and you want a foundation, not just a due date

🤔 You're considering solo motherhood by choice and want to know what it actually looks like before you decide

🧪 You're thinking about leaving a toxic or abusive relationship and you need real information - not fear of the unknown standing between you and a decision you deserve to make clearly

🕯️ You've been widowed and you're navigating grief, parenting, and everything that comes with doing both at the same time - with no roadmap

All legal and entitlements content is UK-based. International members are warmly welcome - the financial tools, planning frameworks, and community are universal.

Any of these sound like you?

hi, i’m hannah

Raising my daughter Sage as a solo mum, I quickly realised something:
the systems around us weren’t built for solo motherhood.

Like so many mums, I found myself responsible for everything - childcare, finances, work, life admin - all resting on one pair of shoulders.

So I started building my own systems.

What began as spreadsheets, checklists and practical tools to stabilise my own life, has grown into The Solo Mum Collective - a place for solo mums to access real tools, real information, and real support from women who understand the reality of doing this alone.

Because raising a child alone shouldn’t mean figuring everything out alone too.

Gifted Memberships

The Solo Mum Collective exists for every solo mum - not just the ones who can afford it right now.

If you're going through a hard patch financially, you can apply for a gifted membership. It's funded entirely by donations from people who believe solo mums deserve support, community and access to real resources - whatever their bank balance looks like.

There's no lengthy process. No proof required. Just a short form so I can understand your situation and make sure memberships reach the women who need them most.

Please note: there is quite a long waitlist and a shortage of donations so there may be a significant wait.

Who can apply?

Gifted memberships are open to solo mums who are:

  • Experiencing financial hardship or a temporary difficult period

  • The primary or sole carer for their child(ren)

  • Not currently a member of the Collective

If you tick all of the above boxes - apply.
That's what this is here for.

Applications for Gifted Memberships are currently closed due to such high demand.

Once we have worked our way through the current list, we will open applications back up.

Sending love & strength to you all!

support the work

I'm one person, building this because it needs to exist. If you've found value in the content, or you just believe solo mums deserve better systems and more visibility - you can back it directly.

Every donation goes towards gifted memberships for solo mums who can't afford to join right now. Each month I share exactly how many donations came in and how many women got access because of them. Full transparency, always.
